The Role of a
Notary Public

Notarial services include authenticating documents and the signing of those documents for individuals and companies, for use abroad, in matters involving an international element of a legal or commercial transaction.

These usually include property and financial transactions such as buying or selling an apartment in e.g. Spain, inheritances and documents requiring to be authenticated for acceptance in a foreign country, whether by banks or public or state bodies, such as the local Revenue Commissioners or Land Registry.

Often this may include a Power of Attorney enabling a trusted party abroad to see to things for you, avoiding multiple journeys abroad to attend to things personally, which can be a great inconvenience.
